Liberty in North Korea (Stoga)

Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) is a nonprofit organization that rescues North Korean defectors hiding in China and assist them in resettlement. As you may or may not know, many people who escape North Korea go to China because it is near impossible to cross the DMZ border to South Korea. But even in China they are not safe because if they are discovered by the Chinese officials, they will be sent back to North Korea and will most likely be sent to prison camps. Our goal of this club is to put the focus on the people rather than the stereotypical image of North Korea (ex: the communist government, the famous Kim family, nuclear weapons, etc you get the point). We want to not only raise money for this organization but also raise awareness of this issue in the student body of Conestoga.

This is our first year with this club so we need all of your help. It would be great if you spread the word about this club. If you have any questions, feel free to ask Lydia Choi or Dahye Yoon.
