Former Olympic athlete Carl Lewis is a candidate for Senator for the state of New Jersey, after an initial rejection of his candidacy. A U.S. judge had held that Lewis did not qualify as an athlete, growing up in the eighth legislative district of the state of New Jersey, had lived most of his life in California. Carl Lewis turned to see an appellate court to prove him right, and Monday from voters in New Jersey, after giving the address of his home in Medford. In the race to the November elections to the Senate, Carl Lewis will face Republican incumbent Dawn Marie Addiego. "It's one thing I never did," he said at a press conference.
