Ancient Order of Hibernians- Bucks County- Div 2

Welcome Brothers and Freinds of the AOH! Since 1836 the Ancient Order of Hibernians in America has been promoting our motto of Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity. Through community service, Charity, and social gatherings, we promote our Irish herritage and keep the memories of our Irish ancestors alive.

Bucks County Div 2 was formed in the early '90s in Newtown Bucks County. Since that time, our small division has accomplished quite a bit. In addition to organizing fun outings for our brothers and thier loved ones, we have begun a scholarship fund for local high school students and raised thousands of dollars in support of the Hibernian Hunger Prodject which is a national effort that each division contributes to in thier own way.
Membership is open to practicing Irish catholic men of at least 18 years old. However, our special events are open to anyone who would like to participate.

Div 2 is named after PFC Michael Brian McGinnis, a marine killed in action in Veitnam in September of 1969. Michaels Brother, Joe Mcginnis was a member of Div 2 prior to his passing in December of 2008, in addition to being a member of the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Forigne Wars and The American Legion. The McGinnis family some of the first famiies in Levittown Pennsylvania and Joe was very active in many organizations throught out Bucks County.
When Div 2 was formed, members from AOH Div 1 in Bristol breifly transfered to the new Newtown division inorder to have enough members to start up. While many of the members transfered back after the numbers swelled, Joe remained a member once it was decided to name the division in honor of his brother who gave his life for his country. Known as "The Irish Godfather of Levittown" Joe was quite a charecter and is sorely missed by everyone in the AOH community.
