AAPG Student Chapter - McMaster University

About:
Welcome to McMaster University’s student chapter of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG)

Mission:
To provide a variety of resources for graduate and undergraduate students focusing on opportunities involving the professional geoscience community.

The McMaster chapter of AAPG aims to develop a relationship and understanding between the energy industry and geoscience education at McMaster University. Through speakers, presentations, field experiences, conferences, and outreach, our goal is to maintain a bridge between students, the public, and the energy industry.

The AAPG’s mission is to advance the science of geology, especially as it relates to petroleum, natural gas, other subsurface fluids, and mineral resources and to promote the technology of exploring for, finding, and producing these materials in an economically and environmentally sound manner (From AAPG.org).

Description:
Benefits of joining the AAPG as a student member include subscriptions to the AAPG Bulletin and Explorer, discounts on publications, courses, and conferences and various job and scholarship opportunities!

In order to be recognized by the AAPG, we’ll need a minimum of 9 members. Luckily, Chevron Corporation is the sponsor of AAPG’s Corporate Sponsorship Program this year and will pay the dues of any AAPG Student member interested (To join visit, http://www.aapg.org/about/membership/types/student)
