Barbados International Movement Inc.

Barbados International Movement of Connecticut Inc.(BIMC) was founded in Hartford, Connecticut in 2014.

BIMC is a charitable and social organization open to the Bajan and Caribbean Communities here in CT, and also abroad.

BIMC offers a friendly and diverse community for Barbadians and our Caribbean friends and family, who share a mutual love and promotion of the Bajan culture. Together we will participate in various fun-filled activities year-round, such as Party events, Meet & Greets and bus trips, while also continuously giving back to the less fortunate within this community that is so dear to us, here and abroad.

BIMC aims to provide educational assistance to the youth in Barbados and CT, through a variety of workshops and scholarship donations, which will encourage future productive citizens and successful leaders.

Not to be left out, our adult population can also look forward to participating in various events and workshops that assist with Citizenship preparation and financial education, just to name a few.

We also will continue to enjoy and promote our culture and heritage through cultural events such as Bridgetown Markets, Fish Fries and Independence Celebrations.

Our long term goal is to provide a ‘home’ for Bajans, and those who are ‘Bajan at heart’, to relax and socialize in while enjoying our world famous Bajan cuisine.

Overall the organization aims to carry on the Bajan name and legacy that was first started here in CT in 1978. Through our many efforts and partnerships we hope to further promote our Bajan Pride & Industry as one people and one community.

We encourage people of ALL ages, nationalities and backgrounds to come join us in our movement!
