Exeter University Choral Society

This is the Exeter University Choral Society Group. Please join to keep updated on news and events.

Choral Society is one of the biggest societies in ExTunes and is the largest unauditioned choir on campus. We are a mixture of students and associate members (including alumni, staff and members of the community) who meet to perform various choral works, ranging from Beethoven to Bernstein. We are directed by Roberto Gallo. Recent performances have included Bach's Mass in B Minor, Mozart's Requiem, Haydn's Little Organ Mass, Verdi's Requiem and songs from around the world including Missa Luba, Missa Criolla, Siyahamba and Baba Yetu.

Our most recent performance of Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man in Exeter Cathedral has earned us the invitation from Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) to take part in the United States premiere performance of Karl Jenkins' The Healer at Carnegie Hall in January 2015.

Our two performances this term are:

Midnight Requiem concert (in commemoration of the World AIDS Day) - 11pm 30 November, Kay House Duryard.
Featuring Mozart's Laudate Dominum and Faure's Requiem.

Great Hall concert - 7.30pm 5 December, University Great Hall.
Featuring Mozart's Ave Verum, Laudate Dominum, Faure's Requiem, and Cantique De Jean Racine.

We rehearse every Monday from 19:30 to 21:30 at Kay House Duryard, Streatham Campus (EX4 4RG). Refreshments are provided, and you can frequently find us at The Imperial afterwards!

We welcome everyone - students, staff and community members - at any level. To join, or for more information, feel free to contact the committee on euchoralsociety@gmail.com:
