Most pastors are not mean, only lacking some understanding and desiring the approval of religious men more than of God sometimes, something which all Christians sometimes must struggle greatly to resist and overcome.
When one wants influence among men, it is easy to be deceived into religious compromise and error.
Many religious men even pastors give way to a demonic spirit of competition and attempt to cover up this actual motive , even lying to themselves, as so the Holy Spirit has testified even in their councils convened to silence those whom they treat as the competition. Refusing to acknowledge the rebuke or correction of the LORD, they pass sentence on the bearer of the message. So the prophets have always been treated by religious men.
The LORD wants our whole hearts.
Hebrews 11:
