HICCUP'S DISCO PUB DUKINFIELD, opened its door in 1974, in 76 it became an open till 2am night spot,,,, the club was always bursting with members and great disco music. The Manager, Gordon Chadwick and his wife Christine ran the club, Gordon was a great friend to all the staff, and stood by them at all times. At one time the residents of Foundary street, tried to get the councill to close the club down,,, but the owner Ken Leary... is said to have offered to buy all the houses on the street, so the club remained opened,,,,, now that was money in those days..... Me Leary owned many clubs and pubs including, the Brown Cow, Middleton ,,, Phillips Park Hall, Bury, Comfortable Gills and Inn with a Chance, both in Stockport and many more,,, he owned a gold Rolls Royce but I remember him saying, he enjoyed driving his yellow Volkswagen Beetle as well....
