Cambridge University Cycling Club

Road, MTB, Cross, and Track racing since 1874

Welcome to the Facebook presence of the Cambridge University Cycling Club (CUCC). We are one of the oldest clubs in the country, having been founded in 1874. As one of the university sports clubs, we provide training and competition to elite performance level for all forms of cycling.

In the Varsity Match, men and women compete annually against Oxford in the disciplines of road and mountain biking (MTB). The former takes place as a 25 mile individual time trial; the latter is a traditional MTB race. We also have a strong record at the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Championships and in local races. Full and half blues for outstanding performances can be awarded to men and women.

Besides racing, the CUCC is also the umbrella organisation for recreational cycling in the University. All levels and types of riders are welcome to join. We organise regular training and social rides, which allow beginners to improve their fitness and to discover the landscape around Cambridge. Indeed, many of our most successful riders started as beginners whilst studying at the University, some of whom have even gone on to become national champions.
