Wishing Springtime
Looking from my window
I see a pinkish hue with morning clouds.
Sky threatening rain, or maybe snow?
ready for a new day.
Sleepy people rise from bed,
peeping from window to see a frost
covered ground so carefully etched on canvas
from natures paint brush .
Trees bare and cold with branches taught
and upright long for natures warmth of spring
To clothe them in lush green leaves
to hide them from the bitter frost.
Cats tread warily on frozen grass
Wondering if the dare is worth the freeze.
and the sky is full of frozen rain ready to fall.
