Equine Student Interest Group - Adelaide University

The Equine SIG is a group for Adelaide veterinary and animal science students that share a passion for all aspects of equine veterinary medicine, behaviour, equine health and welfare. The aim of this group is to enable networking between both students and staff, provide extracurricular equine based practical/workshop experiences, and organise academic discussions with both highly experienced and up and coming equine veterinarians. As an example of the capabilities of the Equine SIG, in the past 2 years of the group’s existence group members have had the opportunity to participate in foaling at Lindsay Park, volunteer with veterinarians at endurance events, be involved in the 3DE with international equine veterinarians, and many practical events organised by the generous Dr Elizabeth Herbert (e.g. castration & ultrasound sessions), and attend many interesting and insightful discussions held by talented veterinarians and the Equine Veterinarians Australia SIG.
