Australian Literacy Therapy Specialists

The Australian Literacy Therapist Specialists group has been founded so that members can share resources, success stories and questions concerning their work as Literacy Therapists. Membership is by invitation only. Members should utilise literacy practices in keeping with The International Dyslexia Association Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading. Members should also be committed to providing instruction based on the Orton Gillingham approach, a phonetic, linguistics based, structured and multisensory approach for teaching reading and spelling. Therapists should use a systematic and cumulative approach involving intensive reinforcement for optimum long-term results.
This is a professional group and as such any conversation needs to adhere to the relevant confidentiality when working with students. Any information about a student needs to remain confidential at all times and cannot be discussed outside the group.
