Grenada's Power of Mom's Learning Circle

I’m putting together a “Learning Circle” and would love to have you join in the fun! Part book club, part girls’ night out and part support group, a Learning Circle is a group of mothers who read a short article on motherhood each month and come together to discuss it while sharing their own experiences and ideas. I think this will be a great chance to step away from our regular lives for a couple hours once a month to learn from each other, laugh together and think about how we can find more joy in motherhood and more personal fulfillment in life. We will have access to great materials from a website called The Power of Moms to make our Learning Circle really effective.

Here’s how it works:

Each month we’ll each read a short and powerful essay on motherhood provided by The Power of Moms that goes with the month’s theme on our own. Then we’ll come together to discuss what we read. Topics include patience, optimism, priorities, organization, balance, fun, progress – topics all moms need! If you want to read more about Learning Circles, check out the webpage: http://powerofmoms.com/empowering-opportunities/learning-circles/

We’ll trade off meeting at each other’s homes and supplying treats (everything’s better with food, right?).
Sound worthwhile? Sound fun? I am really excited!

Inspired by Patty's Girls Night a few weeks ago I would like to suggest meeting on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 8:00 pm. On the website they encourage 90 min for the discussion portion. So, if we allow ourselves some time to chat, get snacks, and get settled we should be able to start the discussion at 8:30 and be done by 10 pm. However the dates and times are not set in stone so hopefully we can find a time that will work for all of us during our first meeting.

Thanks for considering being a part of this uplifting experience with me!

P.S. There is a small cost to get all the essays and materials from The Power of Moms for our Learning Circle. I’ve already paid our group’s start-up fee and my own dues for the year. I’ll email you a link to a page where you can pay your lifetime membership fee of $25 and then you’ll have access to the two years’ worth of monthly articles, discussion questions and group assignments that The Power of Moms provides. I feel like $25 for lifetime access to these materials is a great deal but if cost is a problem, Power of Moms can help – just go here: http://powerofmoms.com/our-power-of-moms-philosophy/ to apply for a discount.
