Bill Goodness's Daily News

Kim and I finished our humbling week with the most humbling experience. We went to a fundraiser for Oscar Campa who is in the 7th grade here in Salina. I have been following Oscars journey for a while now and hoped to meet with him and his family. Our journey seemed to parallel each others and so when we were in Little Rock Oscar was in Kansas City. We finally had a chance to meet with them tonight. Oscar started seeing signs of his cancer coming back about the same time mine came back and so I didn't keep up with his updates until just recently when I saw that he had to have one of his arms amputated early this month. It has always been hard on Kim and I when we see someone young going through this. We don't see young people going through MM. It is usually people even much older than me so it hits us differently to see someone especially this young. He is such an inspiration! Hang in there Oscar.
Today we learned about JOY. Even through we are going through our struggles we still can have Joy through God and He gets us through our tough times. That has been easy for us going through our personal journey but it is harder when we see others going through theirs and that's how I felt when I heard about Oscar and especially when we finally met with him and his mom. You guys are in our prayers.
Joshua 1:9New International Version (NIV)
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
