YVE Cape Verde

Youth Volunteers for the Environment (YVE Cape Verde) / Jovens Voluntários para Ambiente (JVA Cabo Verde) / Jeunes Volontaires pour l’Environnement (JVE Cap-Vert): is the national branch of Youth Volunteers for the Environment, the Panafrican Youth movement, present in 22 countries and heardquartered in Lome (Togo). Our goal is to ensure youth participation at every level of environment management for the sustainable development. The aim of the group is to engage Cape Verde’s young people in the protection, promotion and conservation of environment in an effort to strive towards a sustainable future.

Indeed, in accordance with Agenda 21 and the principle that “education is important to change the attitudes of the people and to ensure that populations have the necessary tools to assess and tackle the problems of sustainable development”, YVE was founded in 2001. Today, the youth organisation is an international environmental advocacy NGO operating in 22 countries throughout Africa. Its international scope has already been recognised by several local and international partners (UNEP, UNFCCC, UNCCD etc..)
