GenderWatch Sierra Leone

Sierra Leonean women are beautiful and resourceful. Determined and resilient they contribute greatly to all aspects of development in the country. Like women the world over they are an invaluable asset, however the significance of their contributions is not always recognised and they face challenges such as inequality and injustice. This group discusses gender related issues in Sierra Leone. Topics may range from the challenges of gender based discrimination to inspiring and uplifting stories. We share knowledge, survival strategies and challenge the status quo when appropriate. Our focus is the total well being of SL women and how this can be achieved through empowerment. This group is a safe environment for women to discuss the issues that matter to them and like minded men are welcome. Courtesy is important and we encourage members to interact respectfully. Contributions that demean or degrade women in any way are not welcome and shall be deleted and the member removed.
