American Chemical Society - University of Houston Chapter

The American Chemical Society (ACS) at the University of Houston is a nonprofit organization here to offer an opportunity for students interested in the chemical sciences to acquaint themselves and foster a professional spirit amongst one another. Our mission is to instill professional pride in the chemical sciences and foster an awareness of the responsibilities and challenges of the modern chemist. Most importantly, we employ our resources to promote chemistry to the community at large. We provide insight into graduate programs and various careers relating to the chemical sciences.

Joining is simple and fun! It is not necessary to pursue chemistry as one's major. Our membership consists of chemistry, biochemistry, biology, mathematics, and physics majors as well as individuals taking the pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-optometry and pre-pharmacy pathways. If you do not fit in any of the above categories, no need to worry. We encourage chemistry enthusiasts to join! Just simply fill out an application form available online or at the ACS office in Fleming.
