"If the group is for "biracial hair" then why do we allow people with all hair types into the group?"
If there is anything I have learned, there is no ONE TYPE of biracial hair. I've seen biracial people with pin straight hair to the most kinkiest curly type of hair. I've also seen people that are not considered biracial with frizzy curly hair. There are also the parents that choose to adopt, if a white parent adopts a black child, they would not fall into the category of"biracial hair" but they may need guidance as much as someone with a child that is biracial or hair that is similar in nature.
"Why name the group Biracial Children Hair Care then?"
Due to society and its stereotypes, the term "mixed hair" or biracial hair" is typically used when referring to a child of mixed race regardless of their hair texture. I named the group this way to help mothers possibly find others with the same issues easier than they would had I just named the hair group "curly hair" because again there are all types of curly hair and that person may find themselves in a group with people with hair that is curly but perhaps a looser curl pattern than what they can relate to. In my mind "biracial hair" encompasses every hair texture possible as again I've had the pleasure of seeing in this group. I feel as though that is the beauty of this group, there is no one size fits all. I hope that this explanation sheds some light for those that may have wondered. Thanks again!
