Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Group

We are victims of fluoroquinolone antibiotic poisoning, toxic reactions to Fluoroquinolone antibiotics, and a Quinolone-induced relapsing/remitting syndrome.
Drugs in this class are Cipro (ciprofloxacin), Avelox (moxifloxacin), Levaquin (levofloxacin) and Floxin. (There are others.)

An adverse reaction to these drugs can cause a host of problems:Tendon pain, tendon rupture, central nervous system assault, peripheral nervous system assault. It causes burning pain, anxiety, sleep disorders, fatigue, depression, assault on major body organs, head pressures, hearing and vision problems and the list goes on.

Many in our community call ourselves "floxies" and say "we have been floxed". Others reject the label, and that's fine, but we are all familiar with the term.

This is purely a support group. There are other groups that deal with advocacy to the wider world, or research on our behalf, or in gathering and archiving information. These are exceedingly important functions, but this group is to be a safe place where floxies can openly share their experiences, ask for help with issues that the medical community won't touch, share research, and commisserate and consider means of approaching recovery.

In this community we have four very simple rules:

1. Members only. If you're not a floxie or a loved one of a floxie, there is a public FQ page that we'd love for you to visit.
2. Be nice. Agree to disagree. No namecalling, and no rudeness.
3. Do not play doctor on Facebook, even if you are one.
4. What happens on FQTG, stays in FQTG. Private information stays private.

A further discussion on these rules is available in the document "Pool Rules" under the Files section.
