Global Youth Movement - Guyana

Global Youth Movement-Guyana is a youth led, youth serving, registered non governmental organisation as a Trust with the Office of the Registrar. It was formed on the 1st of February 2011, launched on the 18th March 2011 and was officially registered on the 21st June 2013.

It was the brain child of Mark Ross and later co-founded by Abbas Hamid and Rondha Lam-Singh to celebrate International Year of Youth 2010-2011.

GYM-G has three basic objectives:
1. to be a link between young people and youth development agencies and individuals.
2. to be a link among young people in Guyana, the Caribbean and Globally
3. to monitor and evaluate youth policies and programmes carried out by youth development agencies (Government, NGO's, International Agencies, Individuals)

GYM-G is not politically affiliated and is an organisation that only seeks to promote and address specific issues not being dealt with that are faced by young people.

GYM-G uses this facebook platform as just one way it will interface and interact with young people and stakeholders from Guyana and Globally.

GYM-G has established this facebook platform to provide young people with a space to identify, discuss and expound on issues faced by them and for they themselves to provide solutions to their issues.

GYM-G recognises that young people will better be able to solve their own problems with guidance and support from adults.

GYM-G has 2 basic principles which guide its operation; Human Rights and Respect and it believes if persons observe these two principles the world will be a better place with support from structures and other underlying principles.

GYM-G is working tirelessly to establish chapters in every part of the world especially where the voices of youth are in the distance.

GYM-G looks forward to working with you and your friends in making this world a better place.
