Open Forum for Future Economic and Social Development in Sierra Leone

This group is created as a premise of open and free discussion forum that often adopts acceptable standards wherein every member should follow the rules and policies for’ posting and making comments in the OPEN FORUM FOR FUTURE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT IN SIERRA LEONE (“OPEN FORUM”), respect for the group’s name, and respect members and the administrators (“Admins”) of the group. The Open Forum is intended to promote freedom of speech, but not at the expense of losing members, upsetting the group as a whole, or creating discord amongst members. Thus, the Admins and members of the forum have a responsibility to ensure that posts which the group finds upsetting, grossly off-topic or designed to cause trouble (inflaming sentiments, for example), are deleted and members who continually violate this rule are removed and banned without appeal. OPEN FORUM intends to communicate issues for the benefits of the Sierra Leone. Like all such groups, the OPEN FORUM is subject to rules of some kind. Our topics for discussion include questions, comparisons, and opinion polls as well as debates related to social, economic and political development of Sierra Leone. We should not use this forum for anti-social behaviour to sprout as people lose temper, especially if the topic is socially sensitive or party political. Our main aims and objectives are to design a strategy for the future economic and social development in Sierra Leone and we could also learn from other countries their failures and successes. Like other forums, poor understanding of differences in values of the participants could be a common problem.. Because replies to topics are often worded or aimed at someone's point of view, discussion will usually go slightly off into several directions as people question each other’s validity, sources and so on. It is not uncommon for debates to end in ad hominem attacks. Offending contents would therefore be deleted if the topic is considered abusive or attacking individual members, race, and ethnic for personal reasons.
