1) ABOUT THIS GROUP
This group is for compassionate fellowship with fellow Spiritual Naturalists from many traditions. It is not for debate with, or criticism of, those having other beliefs. At the Spiritual Naturalist Society, we aim to host sacred spaces (both virtual and physical) in which people can support and help one another in their practice. We therefore hope those conversing here will conduct themselves as one would in a temple - mindful of loving-kindness toward all beings.

2) POST CONTENT
Please do not make posts bashing, poking fun at, or criticizing the beliefs of others. Also, no political posts please.

3) ABOUT SPIRITUAL NATURALISM
Spiritual Naturalism sees the universe as one natural and sacred whole. We try to practice humility in our claims about the world and therefore are scientifically and rationally-minded when it comes to belief. But we also have a spirituality that has compassion as its foundation and help us to live happier lives. This can include meditation and many other practices and rituals. While we do not have supernatural beliefs, we find wisdom and inspiration in innumerable rich traditions and ethical philosophies from around the world. These may include naturalistic forms of Buddhism, Taoism, Paganism, Stoicism, Humanism, and more.

The focus of Spiritual Naturalism is happiness, contentment, or flourishing in life, and a relief from suffering. It is a spirituality whereby we work to become wiser and to live better over time through continued learning, contemplative practices, and character development. It is by walking such a path that we become more capable of helping to make the world a better place, and in so doing, come closer to the flourishing ‘good life’.
