Local Wildlife Agent Speaks of Manatee At Tuttle
By Brian Warner

In recent years the spotting of the supposed Tuttle Creek manatee seems to have picked up. Originally thought to be a ploy, the increase in sightings has led Kansas Wildlife and Parks agents to look into the matter. Dan Florington, KWP agent said that the manatee, commonly known as a Sea Cow, could possible survive in the waters around Manhattan. There had been talk of a manatee that was in the great lakes region, and, if it had traveled down the river system it could possible have taken up residence in Tuttle Reservoir.
